Welcome to the latest edition of PT Aawre, dedicated to the awe-inspiring world of wildlife photography and conservation with a special focus on one of Africa’s most fascinating avian species—the Southern Ground Hornbill. As photographers we deeply passionate about capturing the untamed beauty of nature, we have always been drawn to this remarkable bird. Its imposing presence, unique social structure, and vital role in the ecosystem make it an unforgettable subject for any wildlife enthusiast.
PT Aware was born out of a desire to not only showcase the beauty of these magnificent creatures but also to raise awareness about their plight. The Southern Ground Hornbill, once a common sight in Africa’s savannahs, now they are vulnerable to further declines due to habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict. Through powerful imagery and insightful storytelling, we aim to celebrate the natural world while shedding light on the conservation challenges these birds face.
In each issue, we’ll delve into the life, science, conservations, threats and solutions for various majestic species from the wilderness across the world. Join us on this visual journey, and together, let’s inspire a deeper appreciation and commitment to preserving the wildlife that shares our planet.
Sincerely,
Hermis Haridas &
