K. Shiva Kumar, an award-winning wildlife storyteller from Hyderabad, Telangana, holds an M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the Central University of Odisha. He has documented more than 1,000 bird species across India, along with rare mammals and reptiles, combining strong fieldwork with compelling conservation narratives.
Shiva has collaborated with leading organizations including Wikipedia, the Wildlife Trust of India, the Small Wild Cat Conservation Foundation, BBC, and the Rusty-Spotted Cat Working Group. Alongside documenting biodiversity, he also works closely with local communities, empowering them to protect their natural heritage. His dedication and authentic storytelling have earned him wide national and international recognition.
